For me, yes, although I normally grow a couple of different varieties. There are people on here who seem to be growing a huge number so guess their family must get through two or three every day.
Yes, I have two hungry teenage boys that can easily eat one large one between them as a snack. They have 2 each of the mini ones in their lunch box if I have them. Good carb free snack. Often during the summer I feed several more mouths so 2 cucumbers per day minimum is what I plan for.
But neither of them will eat lettuce
Last year I only got one per plant, however they were relatively small pots.
Would I have got more of they had been in the ground?
Thing is only two of my cucumber seeds seem to have germinated this year, although
some are still planted but no sign of life yet. Hence getting more on the plant would be a bonus if I end up with just two.
I could buy more seeds but I did that, got some in a multipack and none seem to have germinated yet.
I also have one seed I recovered from a shop bought cucumber for eating, might as well plant it, however it is unlike my other seeds, it is smaller and a rough round shape not bigger smooth and flat like my other seeds.
You mean you only got one in total or one per, say, week? You should get a lot more than that in pots or the ground although I do find the polytunnel border easier as it's not restricted by the pot. Did you feed the plant and where was your pot?

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
You can get more cucumbers per plant if you grow them on about 4 side shoots , I got to 48 cucumbers from one plant one year.
I always have a spare plants as they are prone to root rot, but the problem is what to do with all the cucumbers. Here are a few ideas form Mrs Tomato King, I especially like the Cucumber Tzatziki as an apero with a glass of wine after hard day in the garden.
If you get a wilting cucumber plant I have a first aid tip, which sometimes works.

Oh Tomato King! Hear my plea! I'm trying to grow some F1 Follia Plum Toms this year. In a trough with plastic mini "green house", or outside in a bed? Am I doomed?

Only one per plant I think, never had 2 on one plant at the same time, I may have good two from
one plant after picking one, can't remember though I tend to think not.
They are not grown under any glass etc and I didn't really feed them as I had stopped making any feed as it was turning the tomato leaves black.
Personally I would be surprise if the pots I was growing them in could support two cucumbers, they were pretty small, probably would hold a litre.

Not sure what you mean about grow them on side shoots.
Some of mine did have small cucumbers on which never developed, apart from one.
All the rest just faded away.

Hi Richard
In a trough in a mini greenhouse sounds fine as long as you keep it well ventilated in hot weather or you will be prone to disease with too my humidity. Growing in troughs is better then grow-bags as you should have more reserves of moisture in a larger container.
I always get blight here in Brittany if I try to grow outdoor tomatoes, so I have given up.
A cucumber plant will only "hold" about 4 cucumbers at any one time. Once it has the number it can successfully carry to ripen it will stop / abort any youngsters. Dunno how long it takes a cucumber to ripen - couple of weeks maybe?? - so on that basis one plant will give you 2 fruit per week.
But that's all from memory / educated guess, someone with a decent memory, or some crop records, will be able to provide a more accurate answer
Just to add to that - if you try one of the so-called lunch box types that produce mini-cucumbers, they can be very prolific and hold lots of cucumbers at the same time. I'm trying mini-munch this year which promises to be a big producer. Just an option to consider as it means you can have lots of fresh cucumbers at all times rather than large ones cut up and stored in the fridge.

Ditto that but with the addition of Crystal Lemon
