I have some aubergine I have grown from seed & don't have a greenhouse to speak of - can I plant them out & cover them with a mini-poly tunnel or is this not enough??

With a good season (and a following wind as they say) you can grow them outdoors - I did but in a very sheltered position. A mini tunnel should certainly improve your chances. You can only do your best for them. It's better than leaving them to it eh?

We're growing both tom's and aubergines outside on our patio.

Most of the tom's are doing really well now, several of the larger ones are developing flowers.
And our 2 aubergines are doing well too - i found the first flower on one yesterday!

I'm not sure if our patio is particularly sheltered, but it does get a fair amount of sun, so fingers crossed.

On Sunday we planted 6 Black Cherry tom's into a large trough with a good strong cane support, and this weekend will do the same with the rest of the various tom's and the aubergines.
