  • Hedgehog waste

Following on from the fish water thread I've a pet pigmy hedgehog who eats greens, dried cat food (poultry not fish) and mealworms, can I put soiled bedding/droppings in the compost? I'm not sure as she's not vegetarian like a rabbit.

    Hedgehog waste

Over the years I've composted waste from chicken, lizard , snake , lemming, rat ,tarantula ,mouse, millepedes, pond sludge & various reptiles and amphibians. I don't compost dog or cat waste however as there is a higher risk of pathogens surviving composting as well as parasite transfer.
