Hi there, long time lurker, first time poster, so apologies if this is in the wrong place.
I'm looking to plant some parsnips in containers. I don't have any other place to do them, and I am aware that it's not ideal for them.
I'm planning to sow direct in the next few days, (I know I'm a bit late, I'm aiming for Christmas )
My question is, I have in the garage,
Some general B&Q/ john Innes 3 type MPC
Some bagged peat-free topsoil
Some horticultural sand
Gravel for the bottom of the container
Bone meal
potash,
Is there a specific ratio I should be using of these? I've done a search but most of the posts relate to growing in the ground, or growing in barrels for show, neither if which really relate to me.
Thanks very much for any help
