I use Growmore and also chicken pellets as fertilisers and lately have thought would the following be a good idea? I was thinking of putting an amount of chicken pellets and growmore into a large container of water and leaving both to completely dissolve. Then I would use the 'mixture' as a fertiliser. I'm thinking the benefits would be -- easily to 'water' a thick leaved plant[s] - quick take up of goodness by plants and seedlings. What are the views of people more wise than I - good idea or not and the reasons for your opinion. Thanks.

I agree with Richard, you would need to dilute it considerably. I used to keep a barrel of water and add sheep daggins (dirty bits clipped from their back end) then water my sweet peas with it. It was ok but stunk to high heaven.photo album of my garden in my profile http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...my+garden.html

Just bung a handfull of chicken manure pellets around the base of your plants and let the rain and watering take care of it. If you need a liquid use miracle grow ( which has good trace minerals) or Tomorite if they're flowering/fruiting plants.Last edited by Richard Eldritch; 09-05-2014, 11:10 AM.Hussar!
