I thought beans always knew their top from their bottom - just as they know which way to wind themselves around a beanstick.
Thinks............... Aussie beans would wind in the opposite direction.................so maybe they grow upside down too.
This must be a bean from Down Under. Send it to Feral
Well I still don't get it..............roots go down in anyone's book..............trust me to get one that wants to climb out.

Bean planted upside down, shoot grows down first and pushes seed bean upwards before turning and growing out itself.
Plant the lot with just the seed leaves showing,
Cheers Potty, that's exactly what I did.

No matter how I sow em, some of mine always come up the wrong way round.
Maybe if I closed one eye and stuck my tongue out the corner of my mouth when planting, that would help.
It's the first time I've come across it. It's as though it's rebelling against nature.

I think with my vast knowledge in bean welfare, and without first having a meeting with your bean I would suggest that it is showing signs of a split personality. Further evaluation will be required to determine these predictions, but I think its fairly safe to say that its early years buried alive have definitely traumatised it resulting it an alter ego.
