Little Gem Lettuce

Hey,

Does anyone know if my little gem lettuce is ready to be harvested? I planted it on the 16th Feb.

If you need a lettuce I'd pick it I treat all my lettuce plants as 'cut and come again' just taking a leaf or two from each plant until i have enough lettuce. That way seems to work out fine for me.

I do the same Bren,that is when I plant them in the ground,looks like the current bach will be cut from the moduls,
IF you wish to have some with a heart,leave a few to grow on,and pick leaves of off others,nothing nicer than home grown,the taste is so much better,oh and enjoy yours,

Thanks. I think I will do that then instead of just taking the whole lettuce out of the ground.

I only like the heart of a lettuce so I would be leaving it until it has one.

Funny thing peoples taste...Bill likes the sweeter heart, me I like the more bitter outer leaves.

Eaten all ten of my little gems, just planted out another batch from modules. It's great lettuce, so small sweet and quick. I'm a sweet heart man myself... ( not in the musical theatre sense you understand...)
