Just popping quick question to go with yours, do tomatoes need full sun or will they grow just as well part sun/shade. I've started pinching out my side shoots every 3 trusses. Not sure if I'm doing it right though.

They'll do better in full sun but will tolerate a little shade, it depends, are they being grown outside or in a tunnel/glasshouse?
They however can be very thirsty/greedy plants but if it is very hot only water in the morning/evening and apply shading in really hot weather.
and feed once a week once they are flowering.

It sounds as though you are, if you refer to the photo on my blog, is the side shoot you are removing where the leaf + main stem join in a Vshape? If so then sounds as though you're removing the right ones.
What variety are you growing though bush or cordon? as you shouldn't remove side shoots on these as it will result in less fruit production.
