I can never seem to get the support frame the right size. My Peas never seem to grow to their claimed height! I grow Hurst Greenshaft which should grow to about 5ft but often mine reach over 7 and flop over. I thought about pinching them out but thats hard to do when the first flowers are showing and I'm not convinced the pods would be the same size.

I've also just sown what was supposed to be a second outdoor crop (but might well be a first) in modules, but this hasn't always gone to plan in the past either...Garden Grower

I'm reasured to see it's not just me that's having trouble this year. The peas I started off indoors have done quite well but aren't rampant, Ones I planted straight into the ground with no protection, as an experiment, have started to come up well, but the ones I planted from seed but covered with old plastic bottles didn't germinate. The beans have done very little either. I've now sown new peas and beans in a cell tray, though I've been told there's no need, as it's had the most success so far.Is there anything that isn't made better by half an hour pottering in the veg patch?
