How to tell if its a pumpkin,squash or courgette seedling?

My helpful gardening assistant (2 year old) has pulled all of the name tags out of my courgette, pumpkin and squash seedlings. Now i have no idea which is which. Its there anyway to tell what they might be?

The only way I know is to wait until they fruit and see what you get. However that's not very helpful on a sunny Sunday morning.

Pumpkins tend to have larger leaves if that helps a bit???...depends though on the type of pumpkin!

Try googling them separately, and see if they come up with identifiable pics.

Same sort of thing happened to me with squashes and courgettes - a "helper" took all the labels out and washed them - had to wait until the first fruits (although the squashes grew a lot taller)

It's difficult, but like Nicos says, the pumpkins will be generally bigger. The squashes you'll have to wait until they fruit I'm afraid. Surprises are always fun

That is such a good question! I have at least three pots of mystery squash seedlings No idea what they will be until the fruit begins to form. Sometimes you can tell from the flowers.
