My carrots (nantes 5) have smashing healthy tops, about a foot or more high, but as yet, none of those orangey edible root things which should be growing in the soil underneath this fantastic foliage. Surely something should be there with that amount of foliage? Can't really remember when I planted the seed, seems a long time ago.

Despite the hot weather it is still cold at night barely getting over 10C that does hold carrots back, also if they are overcrowded or for some reason there is too much nitrogen in your soil they will put on top growth at the expense of the root. I suspect in time they will bulk up.photo album of my garden in my profile http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...my+garden.html
