Keeping this years potatoes for next years crop

Thinking of storing some of this years potatoes for next years crop but how would you store them?????

I store mine in paper bags in cardboard boxes, check often incase you get a soft one in there. In a cool outbuilding. I've also kept some in the veg tray in the fridge.

I save my best ones, or my rarest ones, in the salad drawer of the fridge, from Aug-Mar

i saved mine from last year in the ground apparently.
I decided not to grow them this year in the same spot but they grew anyway. I must have missed a few from last year. Just goes to show that they can be stored in the wet frozen ground over winter

I stored mine in the garden. Didn't know I had until two started coming up through the new turf I laid 2 months ago. Guess my first ever attempt at container growing potatoes was successful, albeit a year late.

I used to do that each year. Any leafage I saw, I kept an eye and picked the 'volunteers' as I needed a few potatoes. There would always be a few clumps here and there. It worked for years until OH retired. Then he started properly clearing up and cleaning them out. They never grew since!
I don't recommend it - I believe it makes sense to clear out the drills and not keep letting them grow in the same place each year. I used to enjoy it, though, when I was out of spuds I'd check to see if we could get any from somewhere in the garden.

I used to keep a few back in polystyrene boxes filled with sawdust.

I store them in bags made from that black weed fabric. Once bagged, the bags are kept in a box which is lined with polystyrene. I keep that in a very dark recess of the garage throughout the winter. Out in feb into egg cartons and kept on sw facing windowsill in an unheated bedroom. My kestrels are now 4 generstions old and are better than any I 've seen in the shops.

Recycled Picassos and Mayan Twilights from last year. Kept them on a mushroom tray in a dark garage over winter, then chitted as normal in January. They have romped away this year amazingly well, I'd say better than last year.
