we are getting peculiar weather , it keeps on being bright and sunny, its lovely to sit out in and the toms, chillies and melons are loving it but this is not summer, summer is spent swearing at the rain clouds, trying to stop plants (melons especially) rotting on the plant with the cold damp weather, we have heard of this climate before, seen it on the old films of troops fighting their way up Italy, but never seen days of it round here.. local joke = man says to small boy "what do you do on the sunny summer school break?" and the lad replies "don't ask me mister, i am only 13". the most shocking part is the weather people have not forecast rain here for days so they cant run their usual repeats..we just got back from the shops and after going to 7 large outlets we cant get hold of any loungers, that's sun loungers not idlers, if I order by post it will be too late, so we will just enjoy, my skin has gone a brown colour not the usual pasty white.. now theres a change, it feels like we have been on our hols so to everyone out there.....ENJOY....

I could tell the difference between winter and summer when I lived not far from you in Greenock by the temperature of the rain. When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
