Chilli advice please

Below is a picture of one of my chillies which was sown 27 April. Seed was gift from Spain so not a named seed.
It seems to be growing a bit lanky with not many leaves. Its been behind glass and got rather hot down here the past week. It has been watered regularly. Am I doing something wrong? Also do you pinch the tips of chillies to get them to bush out or just leave to grow.

I don't often pinch the tops out on chillies and peppers,just the ones that haven't branched out.
With yours I would definitely pinch the top out, this will force it to put some side shoots out.
Other than that it looks like a good healthy plant. Plenty of time to put growth on now that we've got some sun.


#are the roots out of the bottom? I think I'd be tempted to pot on to the next size pot.

The roots aren't showing yet but I will pot it on tomorrow.

As with tomatoes, you can repot and bury the stem deeper, although yours looks rather long for that. They get lanky when there is not enough light.

where though? In a greenhouse (ideally), or in the kitchen (too dark, which will make a plant leggy/lanky)

Its been In a glass lean to.
Plenty of light but temps got up to 40c in there last week.
