  • Another good or bad beastie question!

This interesting cone of egg cases are on the underside of a cavolo nero leaf and I've not seen anything like it before.

I'm pretty certain it is neither cabbage white (I was out squashing those eggs when I found it) and neither is it the brassica/harlequin bug of which we have many. The egg cases are elongated, mostly cream with a black band and form a solid cone or pyramid shaped raft in multiple layers.

    Maybe another kind of butterfly?

I'll leave them be until I see what hatches out; yes, I know that plan didn't turn out so well in Alien ...

How unusual! I've never seen anything like that before, can't come up with anything on Google either. Hopefully they are good and not bad.
