Advice for baby sweet corn

Guys our sweet corn plants are getting very large now some over a meter or so high with large leaves. I can see no evidence of any cobs forming? Where about on the plants should they appear?
This our first attempt at growing anything so any advice or tips would be great.

This is also my first year of growing corn. Mine are full size corn and I have seen that the lower cobs do not start appearing until the spikes appear out of the tops. Someone will be along in a minute to put that into proper English ..

Thanks guys have been keeping a close eye on all my plants.
Overnight the flowers appeared out of know where on some and we noticed silk like threads coming out tonight so we tried our luck and we have a success. We had two ready to eat!!!
After closer inspection it looks like I could get around 3-4 off each of my 20 plants.
They tasted amazing well the little tiny bit I wrestled from the children.
Sooooo exciting!

For baby corn the cobs don't need to be pollinated, they are picked before then.
In fact I remove the tassels from the top of my Minipop so the pollen doesn't blow onto my 'proper' sweetcorn
