I leave mine in th pots [I cut off top growth] then leave them in the greenhouse over winter and when they're completely dry, they're much easier to smash up.
Then it goes on beds or over the kitchen waste.

Always have a quick check for vine weevil larvae (and any other nasties) before reusing compost

I reuse mine with a bit of BFB for tubs of root crops - carrots, root parsley, salsify and parsnips this year. I get beautiful straight roots, no forking and no slug damage (they are very high up!).

Thank you PTD - just googled that and though I can't see any at the price you mention, I'm sure I could find some. I normally get a massive load of horse manure delivered to the lottie every year for £45 and it is pretty good but obviously it WAY bulkier than dealing with a dried product. And very heavy. Thanks again.

Marshalls Seeds and they reckon a sack will cover 540sq yards. I can't confirm that as I work by the 'pot' not the Sq yard.
