What can I sow?

Hi Guys,
I have 2 4ft by 4ft patches empty and am wondering if there is anything I can sow now that I will be able to plant out at the beginning of September.

Reflecting I should have posted this a good while back

I don't quite understand why you want to sow now and plant out in September?

I've just sown Savoy cabbage seed that will go into final positions over next few weeks.

I've also just put my leeks out into final ground. You might be able to get some plants from a garden centre.

You can still sow peas (round seeded, rather than wrinkled) for a crop this year.

I sowed more dwarf french beans a week ago.

Spring onions.

Lettuce can be sown in a few weeks when temperatures drop a bit.

why September? I guess your space is tied up with other crops at the moment?

What I do (and my plot never has any bare soil, ever) is to work out which crops are going to be finished next and then I put the new crop in around the old.

eg, my peas finish in the first week of July, so I have trays & trays of things waiting to go out after them. I actually planted dwarf French beans in the gaps around the peas, about a month ago. So today the peas came out, and the DFBs are already growing well underneath them.


Onions came out y'day, and tomorrow I'll be planting leeks or cabbage in the space

You can "Sow" the netting to the front end of my "Brassica Cage" if ya like!

White Onions 10th early and frost resistant
Chicorie 13th pain de sucre
Chicorie 13th frisée
Lettuce 13th All year round
Land Cress 13th

Lambs lettuce 13th
Spinach 13th Viroflay
Parsley 13th to go in the tunnel
Coriander 13th so it won't bolt
Spinach Beet 14th to go in the tunnel
Winter Radish 18th

That is it for now, more to go in in September.
