I sowed some spring onions last year that were supposedly of the multipyling kind, I think it may have been Kyoto. My labelling went screwy as usual and I got them mixed up with regular spring onions.
Anyway this year I found amongst the weeds and mulch, a bunch of spring onions which seemed to have split so I thought this must be them. Some of the greens were thick, going to seed and forming bulbs but there were some new thinner green stems which looked new. I only just recently got around to splitting them and they've pretty much died back but there are alot of bulbs that have formed(like small shallots or large onion sets). I've planted what was left of the new growth although it doesn't look great, but I wondered if I could plant the bulbs that have formed too. I've stuck a few in a pot. Anyone know if they'll do anything? I would imagine they'll go to seed but with alliums who knows....
