First year growing Tomatoes and as my flowers have turned to fruit there is now like an extra shoot sprouting from the flower stem producing leaves and more flowers. I'm a bit concerned as to wether I should keep this or not as I've no idea how it is going to support itself should it actually bear fruit. I have 2 plants one is not doing it but the other one has 2 sets of flowers doing this. Please help I'm new to all this.

If mine have flowers before I notice them, I pinch out above those flowers. Mine are going nuts at the minutes, side shooting from all over the place and doing this extra growth on the already set trusses. I was determined to do the "arm pits" rigorously this year and still the beggars keep circumventing me! If you think they are a bit heavy add a prop."A life lived in fear is a life half lived."
PS. I just don't have enough time to say hello to everyone as they join so please take this as a delighted to see you here!

You could nip it off, stick it in't ground, let it sulk for a few days & hopefully you should have a new plant next week.sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”
