I wish the packet would tell you. I've bought a range of french beans, some thin, some fat. So how are we supposed to know what knind the seeds are for? My Johnson's seeds ones look just like your, and they tasted nice.

Can't you tell from pictures on the packet, or on the website?

Usually French beans are picked incredibly small and thin especially here in France where they seem to think that is the best for flavour. Personally I find them better tasting and eating if they are slightly larger, before they get stringy.

The most important advice of all is to keep the plants picked over completely, NEVER leaving a single bean to go old and stringy. That way you will keep them in production for much, much longer. Leave just a single bean to swell and start producing seeds, and the whole bean plant will give up as it thinks it has done its job.

In hot weather this can mean picking beans at least every other day as they grow very quickly.

They are not to scale, so no.

do they not show leaves, as well - so you get a comparative size? Shame if not
