We had a particularly windy night here recently and the stem of my courgette plant has been damaged. It's broken on one side and the plant has tipped over and is lying on it's side now.
I expected it to die but it's still growing and the courgettes all still seem fine.
It wont be able to handle any more tough times in this condition though, so should I
a) cover the broken part of the stem with soil? The break is quite low down, will new roots grow or will it just rot if I do this?
b) wrap duck tape round the stem to try to splint and support it?
c) do nothing as it will die regardless and I'm as well just taking it out now?
