Thanks Penellype. looks like we've been lucky to miss the rain in South Wales.

Well we have had a few hour's worth of unscheduled rain over London - nothing spectacular though but enough to replenish

We've probably been sharing the same storm and you're right it was impressive I intended to check out my rain gauge but I would have got soaked.

Not raining here in south London (yet), but we had over 6 hours of constant rain last night and the plot is drenched. And my water butt is full again - hurrah!

That's a handy website Penellype, thanks.

Good storm in the night, watered the garden and filled the butt for me. Nice!

Don't think it's hitting till tomorrow morning, met office reckons about 50 mph winds here in South Wales!

Wind picking up here - its already blown down my fruit cage and snapped the corner joints . Entirely my fault for covering the thing with veggiemesh - I did wonder how it would stand up to a strong wind when I did it. I've rigged up a lower version which I hope will be enough to protect the blueberries from the birds until the gales are over and I can assess what the best thing to do with it is.
