The sky is very black over the Bristol channel, out towards Devon and getting darker here (Carmarthenshire). Its still hanging onto the rain but I've cleaned out my rainwater catchment filter ready for the deluge (if there is one!). I can sleep easier when I know there's plenty of water to flush the loos

Now, the rain is so heavy I can't see across the river, in fact I can hardly see the houses opposite. Anyone out in this, will be very very wetLast edited by veggiechicken; 09-08-2014, 07:34 PM.

Stay safe VC,we still dry and warm here, the weather this year sure is a talking point, not like when we were younger,we had defined seasons back then, and knew roughly what to expect, the last few have been all over the place, sigpicAnother nutter ,wife, mother, nan and nanan, love my growing places, seed collection and sharing, also one of these

Another interesting link, http://neige.meteociel.fr/satellite/anim_ir.gif showing the satellite images from the last couple of hours. Currently (8.30pm Saturday - I should perhaps point out that the satellite image is 1 hour later because it is French) the centre of Bertha is to the south of Ireland and you can see it generating cloud at quite a rate. Switch to the raintoday radar and you will see the most intense rainfall in this area. You can also see from this that the cloud currently encroaching on the bulk of England is really mainly high cloud with no rain, which shows up just as strongly on the satellite as the rain bearing clouds further south and west.Last edited by Penellype; 09-08-2014, 08:56 PM.A life is like a garden.
