I know a few Grapes have grown the 'mini type corn' this year, I wondered how yours did?
Mine grew really tall, 8-10 ft, and have started to produce about 4 'cobs' each. I've waited till the 'tassels' have started to turn a reddish colour, 'as my book says', but they are really too big now for mini corn, as are about 8inches in length, but when cooked the centre remains hard and inedible, but they aren't big enough to eat as proper corn as the 'niblets', no that's not what they're called, ummmmm, anyway they aren't developed enough, and obviously aren't designed to, cos they should be 'little'.
Maybe I needed to cook them for longer, but the mini cobs you buy, can be eaten raw and are very tender. So am bit disappointed really, as they do look magnificent. Have picked another half dozen this morning, so will give them another go.
Would like to hear your experiences.?
Back to proper corn next year.
Thanks
