    heck are these then? The small tom is an average size Shirley. The big tom was sold as a Ailsa Craig. What do you think it really is? It's not just a one off, all the toms on this plant are the same. Weighs in at just over 250g.

    I'm growing a variety called Belle (beefsteak) which has managed to produce one tomato thats starting to go red just as the blight has hit at my friend's house. The said tomato looks to be about that size and lacks the ridges that beefsteak types like Marmande often have.

      These started of with a hint of ridges, so I was expecting Marmande, but as they've got bigger, they have smoothed out. I'm going to have the tom in the pic for my tea/supper in about an hour along with some cuke and pickled beetroot. I'll report back later.
