  • Sungold suffering.

Funny thing is happening with my sungold, quite a few of the tomatoes are falling off, both ripe and green makes no difference. Other types in the same G/H are fine, is this a feature of the model? I pride myself on the watering regime so I doubt that has much to do with it.

I've not noticed a lot of fruit falling off, although they do come off very easily when picked sometiems. I haven't grown sungold in a greenhouse - all mine are outdoors.

Mine fall off at the slightest nudge, even when green. Annoying.

Mine too - I thought it was my 'lack' of a regimented watering regime, but apparently not! Must just be the variety. Although to be fair, it's only a very few which drop off, and the green ones will ripen if you bring them indoors and leave them for a while .

well none of mine fall off, at all. I've never had it happen: I grow Sungold & Roma in the gh every year, and this year outdoors as well, it's been so warm.

I wonder if its because they have so many tomatoes on them, shedding some to protect the majority? These sungold are so damn delicious that few are ever reaching the kitchen!

I suspect my cats throwing themselves onto the plants to chase birds that get trapped in the porch might have something to do with it in my case

All of my cherry type tomatoes are losing the odd few toms, and i think it's because they are so laden with fruit
