That's why I was so happy as a child making mud pies then...

Another good excuse not to 'treat' soil with certain chemicals then!!

No wonder we all get grumpy in the winter.
And now I know why my autistic grandson loves to be messing about in my garden and is happy here yet gets hard work when he goes home.

It's amazing, isn't it? Maybe after all those years of mud pies and growing sunflowers and bird seed, I am hooked in gardening!

Yet another blow for those people who disinfect everything and throw up their hands in horror at the mention of bacteria. I've always said a little bit of dirt was good for you

Awesome! And then all that digging holes and pulling weeds gets rid of some aggression.

Hope the government doesn't realise this, they'll start charging to let us garden soon :P

Research was from 2007 ... why weren't we told sooner?

I agree with Martin H, it's a pity we didn't hear about this earlier
No wonder I've been so contented since I retired, I've been up to my neck in dirt.

My OH was watching me planting alpines the other day - a muddy mess really. And he said that he thinks gardeners are just little kids who haven't quite grown up enough yet and are still happy playing 'slobby-dosh'!! (Yorkshire slang for messing about in the mud and enjoying yourself) I also love it when I put compost on as a mulch and it's too dry then I spend my time with the hose pipe and a trowel mixing the compost into thick goo! hahah splodge!
You may say I'm a dreamer... But I'm not the only one...

I'm an official nutter - an official 'cropper' of a nutter! I am sooooo pleased to be a cropper! Hurrah!
