Overwinter peas - spacing?

Soon I'll be sowing some of these peas for overwintering:



Looking at those sowing instructions, is 3" the final spacing? Or would you be thinning out later? A row of mature plants 3" apart sounds very close/dense.

Sounds about right to me! I plant them in a guttering type tray (can't think of proper name) in a zig zag so that is about the spacing.

I always sow peas like this, and they don't get thinned out.
