  • 2015 garden plan idea

I am starting to work on my 2015 vegetable garden plan.
I thought best to start early on the planning so I can get thing in on time this year.
my veg garden is 24ft by 30 with 10 10ftx4 ft raised bed.

I am just looking for various idea on what plant and how much at time plant so to avoid gluts.

Where do you live, bananamelon? Can you add it to your profile please.
Planting time of some crops can be weather dependent - especially frost dates. It would also be good if you told us the veggies that you would like to grow.

Apart from things that need a long growing season I try and sow monthly, just sow what you think you're going to use per month, be a bit careful with certain things that you can cut and come again like lettuce or pak choir as most of the time you can get away with using a lot less than what you sow

pretty impossible really, because our growing season is so short in the UK
You have to grow what you can, when you can, and store the surplus

Unless like me you want about 30 portions of courgette and <insert veg of choice> soup in the freezer!

                  Current variations include:
                  Courgette
                  Courgette and runner bean
Courgette and tomato (with and without basil)
                  Courgette and carrot
                  Courgette, carrot and kohl-rabi
                  Courgette, tomato and green pepper
                  Courgette, green pepper and onion

I have 3 this year and the little swines have produced booger all. Although maybe 2 a week is actually perfect!

I had more courgettes from four plants than I had carrots from 4 rows.

On TV last night that Lorraine Pascale did courgette baked fritter things.
