I just love the squash, they are so lovely, I grew munchkin, they are so cute 😄. I also like zephyr courgette, so pretty with their green tips. As a newbie I am very excited about my sprouts and flower sprouts coming up now. And I really hope to do better next year with my tomatoes next year, hopefully they will make me smile 😊

Where to start!
Fresh peas straight out of the pod in October
Calabrese that just keeps producing more when I was going to chuck it out ages ago
A red cabbage so big I could hardly lift it and had to use an axe to cut the stem off
Yellow raspberries growing in nearly total shade
Carrots that are not riddled with carrot fly
Where on earth am I going to put ANOTHER punnet of tomatoes?
Cucumbers in my garden, which I thought was impossible here
I think the prize has to go to the peppers though, specifically snackbite orange. They are on my landing windowsill, and every time I walk past when there is a ripe one I have to stop and stroke it.A life is like a garden. The weird and wonderful shapes and colours of tomatoes from the VSP have made me smile this year. I'd never heard of the varieties before, and it's been fun watching the lemon trees grow into miniature lemon tomatoes, and the black from tula growing into enormous brown beefsteaks. There was one which we called 'the monster' because it just got bigger and bigger (wish I'd taken a photo now). Even though I don't eat tomatoes myself, they've been the most enjoyable plants to grow this year.

Picking raspberries...both red and golden always put a grin on my face!
Nothing quite like finding those beautifully coloured jewels hidden amongst the foliage....and then the flavour burst as you squash then in your mouth!....hmmmm....
Even better if you manage not to scratch yourself on the little spikes in the process!"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

For me it's a close first and second. Second being the first dug new potatoes and the first being the pumpkins!
They're storing in the shed now, along with the squash and every time I go in and have a glance of them, all positioned neatly in a row it brings a smile 😊
