I'm another add to my beds as a soil improver the following year, or add as a layer of brown in the dalek to get re energised and assist in adding beneficial microbes to the process.

Back to the thread. If your revived compost does not grow stuff like it should then you may have missed something in the process, I have no idea how old some of mine is but I still get good crops, some may say better than average.
Like MrBiffo I could not afford to buy new every year as I use plus of 2000ltrs in my containers so am always trying to improve things, this year I am trying rock dust as an additive hoping to better the trace element side of things.Potty by name Potty by nature.
