Just a quick question about using manure One my beds. I was looking at using fresh horse manure One my beds overwinter. I have planted some with green manure and usually cover some with cardboard. However I was thinking of using some of the fresh horse manure we get free as a mulch. I know you don't put fresh manure One plants but would it have sufficient time for it to breakdown for planting next spring?

I grew Courgettes in fresh manure this year & had a bumper crop,in fact they are still producing but in answer to your question, I would have no hesitation in putting fresh manure to overwinter...........in fact I may just go into the field this week & collect me some.sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”
