First leaves on my plot are normally the weeds

Runner beans, well worth the effort and feeds the family for the whole year. Blueberry plants are a must, the Elizabeth and Darrow more preferred to my Earliblue and Herbert, Bluecrop and Duke are ok.

Still a newb and still got a lot of the garden to sort out to go full out gardening but must grow Aspargus next year. Read snails and slugs love them, so have to find a way to protect them.

Oh, I forgot about runners... They take little time and effort and you can get a dinner from them every day as soon as they get going. As a bonus the kids will eat them daily without complaint

I'd have to grow runners outside and toms in the greenhouse, even if I couldn't manage anything else!

An easy question for me, strawberries (shop bought have all the charm and personality of a raw spud )
and purple sprouting broccoli...I'm always ridiculously happy to find it ready on the plot in spring

So many choices so I consulted Mr PP. His answer? Chips. It's a long old struggle!
I'm torn between tomatoes and salad leaves.

I want it to be sweetcorn, as I remember the flavour of my dad's homegrown when i was a kid... but as I can't seem to grow it here, I'll have to go with tomatoes. Or beetroot. Squashes are fun. French beans delicious... oh this is impossible!

Artichokes! I love them and can't understand why everyone else doesn't! I've got ten plants and this year they started cropping in May and have yet to finish. In my experience, very easy to grow and I don't even bother doing anything to overwinter them. And they look fantastic. Maybe I should go into monoculture.

Verinda, I really struggle with carrots! Have a look at my entry in the Best Failure vine competition.

Other must haves are winter squash, coriander and chard. You can do anything with chard and I use loads of coriander when cooking. I love it in salads too.

                            100% tomatoes any type.
But will always do yellow courgettes and butternut squash after trying them this year

                            I will try anything once
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

I don't know why? but a good bowl full picked "Crismad Eve" with a couple of accompanying sprout tops, prepped n ready for the table on the big day just completes my season!

Oh! n another must would be my hair!

Struggled with that the last 5 years!

Tomatoes every day of the week, I always end up growing loads of different varieties. Marketmore Cucumber has always worked for me well outdoors and they taste so much better than supermarket cukes!
