  • Broad beans

Hi, I'm very new to this, have muddled my way through the summer quite successfully, but really have no idea what I'm doing! I have planted broad bean seeds a few weeks ago, my plants are now about 3 inches tall, and the underside of leaves are covered in white flies. What are they and what should I do?

Where are the plants, in the ground or in pots? Outside or under cover?

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Do the flies fly up when you brush past the plants? They sound like white fly to me. There has been a lot of them on my plants this year. I don't usually bother too much about them as they will be killed off once the colder weather gets here.

Yes they do, looks like fine ash. Hopefully they'll die off then in the cold snap!
