Time to get sprouts planted for next autumn and winter. As long as you have a good variety, mid season one is best as sprouts will stand well into the new year, even if they form early, then concentrate on making sure plants are well looked after during the summer months.
Sprouts will only do well if they are on firm ground and have sturdy roots; if they are well fed, preferably with a good organic fertiliser as lots of quick release nitrogen will make them leafy and soft; and if they are well watered during the hot summer months.
Don't worry too much about caterpillar damage as they can recover well from this, but pick off any caterpillars you see.
