Does anybody know what the pickled chillies are that are commonly in the box with a doner kebab? They're not very hot, lime green, 4" long maybe?

Is it a jalapeño type? Aci Sivri? I remember reading about these some time ago but I've forgotten the answer....and it's over 20years ago that I last ate a kebab!

Green Turkish chillis, apparently.
"Turkish chillies are typically long, pale green chillies (known in Turkey as biber, or pepper). They are usually sweet, but can also be hot. Turks love them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you can’t find Turkish biber, just use long green chillies."

According to this Binnur's Turkish Cookbook: Pickled Long Green Peppers they are called sivri biber.

Aaargh!
They were a whole salad bowlful for a quid yesterday in Lewisham market!
If they're there next week I'll get them and dig the seeds out for you. I know chillies cross but reckon when grown commercially you might get away with it?
For £1 it's worth a gamble!
