Question for the chilli connoisseurs

Does anybody know what the pickled chillies are that are commonly in the box with a doner kebab? They're not very hot, lime green, 4" long maybe?

Is it a jalapeño type? Aci Sivri? I remember reading about these some time ago but I've forgotten the answer....and it's over 20years ago that I last ate a kebab!

Green Turkish chillis, apparently.

According to this Binnur's Turkish Cookbook: Pickled Long Green Peppers they are called sivri biber.

I've always thought they were pepperoncini aswell

I have no idea, but I do like kebabs. And I do not believe they are jalapenos..

I need to see if I can get some sivi biber seeds now!

They were a whole salad bowlful for a quid yesterday in Lewisham market!
If they're there next week I'll get them and dig the seeds out for you. I know chillies cross but reckon when grown commercially you might get away with it?
For £1 it's worth a gamble!
