Yes I do that, it was one of my first questions when I came here and TwoSheds told me about the fridge. I was skeptical (I always am...) but it works just fine. Only down side is that you can only store a small amount - but maybe that's good, self-limiting the number of varieties I can plant! So easy to get seed spuds fever...bonkers about beans... and now a proud Nutter!
