The Luffa challenge. Come on join in.

As i have admitted before i am a seedaholic, i recently won a auction for a selection of random seeds and ended up with a few packs of Suttons Luffa seeds, well i don't know what to do with them, i didn't even know you could grow them (i thought they came from the sea :roll eyes: )

So who is up for a challenge?

I will send out 3/4 seeds to whoever wants to join in, lets see who can grow the biggest or the most (open to ideas)

I have enough for 20 of us to play

The winner gets a lovely luffa

We can give as gifts or enjoy ourselves, you can even eat them.

All i ask is once you have received your item, if you can just reimburse me for the postage, something like 80pence/1 pound via paypal. So maybe send me something back.

I tried a few years ago and failed miserably. However, I gave some seed to my dad and his plants grew well but didn't fruit. Would love to know how peeps get on if they take up the challenge

Sorry, they take up lots of space and I want that for things I know I want to eat. Mebbe if I had a full plot and not a half.

I too have tried growing them before (without success) but this I year was the talk of the allotments just for growing Thelma Sanders....imagine what they'll make of luverly luffas

I have a packet of Luffa seeds, bought years ago and still in their packet Seemed like a good idea at the time, but I never remembered to sow them at the right time Maybe next year, if you remind me

I've tried since I got the seeds about 2 yrs ago. Haven't managed to get one seed to germinate yet.

Every year I look at the beggars with narrowed eyes, and bung a few seeds in!

This year I considered writing to the company and asking if they were trick seeds.
