Don't like the snow. If it gets really bad I have to slide the car out to the main road avoiding 2 cars, a tree stump and a row of trees. Then hopefully stopping before I hit the main road.
We live on the top of a well I suppose a hill but it climbs very gradually then drops down to a very busy roundabout. The amount of cars and lorries that get stuck in the snow is unbelievable. The kids love it.
But I think we need a cold snap to kill all the bugs, pests and germs.
I would rather be clearing the frost off the car off that digging it out. I don't rally fancy all that rain again like last year. I expect that those people who got flooded last year wont want it either. If we do get the rain again I just hope that its not as bad as last year and those that have been able to get flood defences that they work.

You are quite right - having seen the devastation up at the allotment in previous years, it's sad seeing people's hard work ruined.

We were lucky last year in Hull that many of us avoided the floods that affected so many in other parts of the UK.

Last year is the only winter I can remember where we never really experienced any major frosts, nevermind snow.

This resulted in many fruit trees blossoming early - and got hit with a slight frost in late spring.

It's strange how allotmenteering has changed me - there are days where I wish for snow, ice, rain, etc. Growing up in Scotland, I detested that weather when younger.

I hate the cold But having recently moved back to London from Norfolk, I am loving the slightly warmer temperature. I'm hoping for some hard frosts to break up my clay soil, have dug half the plot over now and am going to try and dig most of the other half in the next 2 weeks, then leave it for a few months covered in manure/compost and let the frost and worms do their jobs!
