  • Broad Bean pest problem

Do slugs/mice eat broad beans. I was shocked to see that my perfect broad beans are not quite as perfect as I thought. No black fly whatsoever, however they are a bit crowded and a lot of the pods have been eaten with just a bit of the pod still hanging. It is more prolific towards the centre of the crop rather than on the outskirts. I do have a mole, I think he is trapped in my plot and wondered if mice were using the channels to run along! My potatoes have also been nibbled in places. Can anyone help?

yes, i'd plump for mice. Snails and slugs will also eat them, and every-ruddy-thing else too.

Sorry, I can't help with your question as I have never grown broad beans (yet). I just wanted to say hello and welcome to the vine. Look forward to hearing what else you are growing too.

Welcome to the vine Petalblossom. Sounds like mice -because I don't have the problem and the lottie is like a snail farm.
