  • Was it too early to buy first early potatoes?

I purchased some Maris piper first early seed potatoes from the garden centre today and I'm wondering if it was a bit early to buy them?
From what I can gather it's a bit early to chit, I'll start that mid-end of jan.
How can I store them correctly without the seed potatoes sending shoots out too early?
    Thanks.

Store them in the salad box in the fridge (If you can get away with it )

If any chits show, just break them off. They should re-grow.

Bury them in a biscuit tin in the garden! But remember where you've buried them!

Geoff Smith used to store second early tatties in a biscuit tin and burried in the garden just to get the fresh new potato taste at Christmas.
