Today I planted out Zinnias, Dahlias, Cosmos, Sunflowers, Nasturtiums, Cucumbers (Marketmore) and Sweetcorn. Fingers crossed we have no more frosts!

Concentrated on the "Chilli n Tomatoe house" Was hoping to get em set today, but funny how time just "Runs Away"
But the hard works done! I'll get em set tomorrow!
The toms are all down there now!
Which cuts me a little slack up home!

Mainly watering and weeding today. Had a little helper, who followed me round all day and didn't seem in the least nervous.

So THAT is where my blackbird has disappeared to! Last Friday I had a female keeping me company (and helping herself to a few grubs, worms and other critters for her youngster in the next plot) whilst I dug over one bed but I haven't seen her this week. A couple of youngsters and the male are still around though so I think the female may be sat on her next clutch of eggs
I've had a VERY productive week off work and today has been no exception I planted out my Swiss Chard and sowed two rows of Beetroot 'Chioggia'...sowed more Candytuft & Poached Egg Plant...planted out a few Calendula around the plot so they can, hopefully, self seed in the future...pushed a few Nasturtium seeds into the ground here and there....and planted out a few perennials from my containers ~ Dahlia 'Arabian Knight', Bloody Cranesbill and some Alchemilla Mollis
In the polytunnel I planted up my strawberry plants (need to work out a permanent bed for them outside) and planted two Cucumber seedlings which I am determined NOT to kill like I did my first batch *blush*Last edited by Gillykat; 16-05-2015, 07:49 PM.If I'm not on the Grapevine I can usually be found here!....https://www.thecomfreypatch.co.uk/

Q's, courgettes and corn outside the porch to introduce them to the weather. They did not like it much as the freezing wind put them off living outdoors. I do however have a plan for them tomorrow - they are being planted out no matter what as I am fed up not having enough room in the porch to dry the clothes when it is teamjng down.I have not failed. wrote the colours associated with the names of my recently acquired chrysanthemum cuttings on the back of the lollipop label for reference purposes.
Hoed off weeds on a bed i will be using for brassicas and raked weeds off bed. As brassicas like firm soil there's no need to dig it,.
Dug up my biggest leek from this year and put it in a large pot to allow it to produce seed. Gave it a good watering and placed it in a sheltered position.
Started to hand weed another bed which has a few leeks left in it but had to give up as my back was playing up. Very windy today and still quite chilly. My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

Bean poles erected, 7 large pots filled, topped up our tiny pond, strimmed the weeds around the edge of the lawn (and I use the word lawn in it's vagueist sense).
I also realized that the mower would actually hoover like its supposed to if our grass (no use using the word lawn as it implies green and flat) was not a collection of dug and re-filled trenches, holes and ex fence post dips.
The celeriac is doing good though - whey hey.I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

Alas, my interiors are nowhere as neat.
As well as potting today I did some pottering - and photographing.
All in the tunnel as it was raining
Carrots...
sweetcorn ...
Tomatoes ...
Lettuce ... (yes. they are in there somewhere ...)
