            • Yesterday, she says chest puffed with pride, I picked my sweet granite melon. Fragrant orange flesh and a delicous flavour - according to the friend that I bestowed it on ( I'm allergic to them). Also beans, tomatos, courgettes, beetroot, spinach, carrots, gladioli, tithonia, marigolds, carnations and dahlias.
No matter:the allotment is lovely, the tadpoles have legs, my sea kale has germinated and I am glad to be home.

              • More beans ... another carrier bag full of runner beans. About 1.5 pounds of French beans, 2 big courgettes, 4 cucumbers, a punnet of tomatoes, 3 tennis ball sized turnips, half a bucket of plums and half a bucket of greengages. I have been around the neighbours in my Lady Bountiful guise and my cousin is also going to benefit. Having just watered the greenhouse in the garden there are 3 more cukes ready there too - I guess I shall be prepping some cucumber relish this evening.

                          • Over the past week I've picked lots of Runner beans, French beans, and courgettes. There were some Sungold toms and a few Shirley toms - some red but more green ones for pickling. There were a few cucumbers too.

                            Pics of some of them...
