  • One of my cauliflowers has flowered

One of my cauliflowers was looking good and it was really developing, but it was only still a small head so I didn't pick any of it. But now lots of yellow flowers are starting to flower out of it! Does this mean it's "bolted"? What have I done wrong?

    Sounds like it's bolted!
Cauliflowers can be a bit fickle at times.
Premature bolting is usually stress related, too hot or too cold,.....too little /too much water etc

Life may not be the party we hoped for but since we're here we might as well dance

If I pick off the flowers and any edible growth, will it make a difference or is it too late to save it?

Summer caulis are quite small and we are on sandy soil here so the bolt without much persuasion. Plant them really firmly and as soon as they look good eat them. I made a couple of batches of cauliflower cheese for the freezer and gave away loads, as they go over quickly, while EVERYTHING seems to want to eat them. Some bend down the leaves over the curds to stop greening. I'm having my best year ever with All the year round.
