Hi, I planted some green beans a couple of months ago, I can't remember the variety, they're in a polytunnel, they've been growing well but when ever we have a spell of frost they go a bit droopy, is this normal and will they last if we get a prelonged cold spell...?

If you are worried about them Chris, keep some fleece handy if there is risk of a frost.sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”

Hi Chris, last year mine looked totally manky by February, they'd been freezing and defrosting all winter and battered by winds. I just cut them down to 1cm, and they soon shot up again once the weather picked up. As long as the root system is strong, they'll crop earlier than spring sown ones.He-Pep!
