I really don't like radish at all and won't give them garden room at home (although I grew some for my friend last year). I find them too hot, too tough, nibbled by slugs and snails, infested with cabbage root fly and attacked by whitefly and flea beetle. The ones I grew last year were vaguely radish shaped, but not many made it as far as the kitchen and I've no idea if they were eaten. Most were pulled out of the ground when they started to flower.
I am trying some mooli (winter radish) which are currently growing at my friend's. I've also ordered some radish sangria seeds which are for eating the tops of rather than the roots. But I don't somehow think I'll be joining this particular challenge!

I have just done a large tray of scarlet globe, they are on date so will be interesting to see the germination rate. I have never grown them in a tray before, so here it goes.
I have all sorts to grow this year and looking forward to the Spanish black ones.
Another couple of ways to eat them if you don't overly like the pepper taste, is to thinly slice and splash with vinegar on a plate, serve with salad and just like a fresh crunchy pickle. also thinly into noddles etc.
It was a long time ago but saw a nice looking soup that used the tops as well as the radish it self. Had really good reviews might try looking it up

I have sown two pots of radish today as this was the first opportunity to get into the greenhouse due to high winds, and for those that dont like them I bought a bunch of them for 50p the other day and used them in a vegetable roast and the taste is so different, I would suggest you give them a try for yourself
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

I have a Margarine tub full of compost and tonight I'll sow a round radish - hope its won't need the depth of a long 'un. Haven't chosen which round 'un yet.

I've never (successfully) grown radishes before and if I've never grown anything before I tend to stick to the pack destructions. These say sow in March :s
They'll be in my unheated greenhouse if this will be warm enough?
Varieties are:
last years Scarlet Globe (which didn't grow on the allotment) they might take!
this years mixed bag: French Breakfast, Scarlet Globe and Sparkler
This challenge is quite handy in that I use one of those packs of mushrooms a week or so and can sow weekly in those trays! It'll remind me to do it at any rate.
I'm keeping mine inside until they germinate. Then what happens next will depend on the weather and how much windowsill is empty.
OH was pretty understanding last year with all my seed trays on the windowsills, but I'm going to try not to put too much on them this year and test that patience, I already have spuds chitting merrily away :/
We have some action going on here, so i guess radish seed does well past it's date.

Great thing about radishes is that you get a choice of different crops - the root (obviously), the greens and (if you're a bit lapse with harvesting) the seed pods

I have one of my first batch just peaking through this morning, so I guess that means I should sow some more today!
They obviously didn't like it in my sunny unheated greenhouse, they preferred it indoors even tho it's darker. They will have to go back there once they've all spouted tho, I just don't have the room!
