Thanks Folks, the setup withe the bottles seems to keep the compost moist but not too wet, as Potty said once the temperature increased to over 5`c all seeds germinated the problem is it has fallen to -3`c overnight several nights since, and VC as I think I mentioned before, my clothes seem to be made of a material that seems to shrink so much there is hardly any room for me up my jumper and there is no room under the bed due to my collection of magazines (gardening of course)
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Here we go. Some piccies of progress. Perfectionist gardeners please look at another thread as these pictures may cause you some distress

      Week 1 sown 12/01 and Week 2 19/01

Now, anyone wondering what is meant by leggy seedlings here is a perfect example. They weren't germinating on the windowsill so I put them in the airing cupboard and promptly forgot about them

      Week 3 sown 29/01 and Week 4 05/02

      Week 5 sown 11/02

Hi VC. I have now installed a heat cable in the greenhouse and have my fire issues sorted so I intend to restart your challenge from tomorrow, will let you know how it goes

My first sowing got way too leggy then died, the second lot also got very leggy, so I ate them as sprouts before they died, third lot just above the compost, and have been put outside - probably the frost will kill them. Looking at all yours, VC, I'm glad I'm only doing one pot per fortnight. I don't love radishes that much!

Sorry VC, I am a little slow on this, my 4th tray has been sown a couple of days ago, they've gone straight into the blowaway in my greenhouse as it's warm enough to germinate in there - there's not much difference between all three previous tray seedling now tho!

I have to admit that I have lapsed and not sown any more radishes, in fact the pots I have planted have been rather neglected.

Unfortunately work anf window space have forced me to focus on my more favourite children such as chillies, peppers and, erm, more chillies.

I had a little looks at my first tray today, the stem is starting to swell a little which I am guessing is good, but the original stem is splitting to reveal the 'bulge' inside; is this normal....?!

My first tub is still a way off that, but hit and miss wether they will do much as they were a little leggy anyway. I have lapsed slightly and missed the last two weeks. Will have to sow some more today.

Time to join in. Set my first seed today in a cut down MFB, this was placed on a high shelf in the GH.

All I have to do now is try to catch you up.
