Here's my allotment pics from August 15th, with July 8th alongside for comparison.
Looking up to the East from the bottom of the plot:
And from half way up the plot:
Most beds need some attention, mainly to attack the weeds, but overall I'm pleased with how it's turning out this year.

The courgettes, squash, tomatoes and summer leeks are still going strong and we have borlotti beans, fennel, leeks, caulis and kale for later. I have dug up some of the Sarpo Mira main crop spuds which are blight free and also tasty.
I have had a strange thing happen with my pattypan squash, they seem to have hybridised with the adjacent pottimarron squash. I blame those pesky bees!
They should look like this.
Otherwise the garden is still suffering from the heat which has continued with brief respites since the end of June. Its been above 30C for most of August, storms and a temperature dive forecast for this evening.

September. For once it doesn't feel like a surprise - its so cool and autumnal it could easily be October!
From the garden door
Remarkably little difference from a month ago, although things are starting to look a little tired.
From the lawn facing south
The melons have gone from the growhouse and there are a couple of tomatoes turning red. Strawberry runners sitting on top of the compost bin at the back. Otherwise everything looks very similar, although possibly a bit flattened by yesterday's rain.
From the lawn facing north east
Most of the apples have fallen off the tree. The peas in the bucket are doing well, with some ready to pick. Shirley tomatoes are still green but now a nice size. Florence fennel has been planted in front of them.
Near the garage wall
Strawberry towers looking very tired - some of the plants have died. Autumn raspberries starting to turn yellow. The big green fleece covers my gooseberry bush to keep out the sawfly. I have no idea if it is getting enough light but its that or no leaves. Somewhere under all that potato foliage (sarpo mira) are 2 red cabbages. I have no idea what is happening to them as they are completely covered!
From behind the fruit cage
Runner beans have gone completely mad - there are only 4 plants there! Onions have been replaced with a netting cloche covering broccoli. The greenery climbing up the fence is 2 cucumber plants, bursting with health and vitality, but without a single fruit yet this year. Courgettes, strawberries and brassica seedlings on the path, more courgettes and tomatoes on the left, plus french beans and July planted Charlotte potatoes in the buckets. There are also more runner beans climbing the archway - as if I needed any more! Behind the runner bean teepee is my little pole garden, where the wild strawberries are producing a steady trickle of delicious fruit.A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP. - Leonard Nimoy

Ok I have been a wuss and haven't posted on here in fear not a lot would change, but I have secretly kept a calendar. However, I am really pleased with myself. Still got lots to do but at the weekend I got to the bottom of the patch and enjoyed the view looking towards the front.
Here are the pics from Jan.

September
Autumn in my garden & the leaves of my stags horn sumac are turning red, which looks lovely against a really cold dreary day. My second sowing of runner beans started producing beans about a week ago. First time the grape vines produced grapes, its about 4 years old & looks hidden from pests amongst tomatoes, although something's been eating the leaves, but that could be said around my whole garden!Location : Essex

September Continued....
A few more pictures of growth in September. Back in April or May I sowed carrot seed amongst peas, peas finished a while ago,but these are the carrots I pulled out today,it works well. I used a dwarf pea variety (bingo) I did have a problem with pea caterpillars too,but they haven't touched the carrots. My 3 spring onions (I sowed about 50 seeds but 3 is better than none!) growing with some young rocket, tomatoes & marigolds.Location : Essex

Here's my allotment pics from September 21st, with August 15th alongside for comparison.
Looking up to the East from the bottom of the plot:
And from half way up the plot:
It's all looking a bit uncontrolled at the moment, but it's kind of a transition time now between 2015 and 2016 seasons. Hopefully by next month I'll have a proper plan sorted out for next season!
Meanwhile there are lots of bed-by-bed pictures on my blog, link below.
