I got a bare root hop plant (prima donna/first gold dwarf) delivered on Christmas eve and I needed to leave within an hour of delivery so it was planted in a hurry and the hole was not really wide enough so the root is a bit coiled. I am thinking of digging it up and replanting but there is a high risk of damaging it when digging up. Does anyone know if its worth it or will it be OK, the hole was very roughly 30cm wide and I think deep enough. For future reference would I have been better leaving it in the fridge or in a bag of compost outside and planting a week later?

That sounds like quite a big hole. However if you are in any doubt I would lift it sooner rather than later. -
Cheers for the advice I think I will leave it as the risk of damaging it is high as the whole thing is underground so just finding it is risky.Comment

If it's like my hop plant you will find it hard to kill.
The little blighter pops up all over the place and is rampant on my wall.
Take care with the tendrils, they are like rat tailed files.
Get one across you bare arm or leg and you will get a big welt.Expect the worst in life and you will probably have under estimated!Comment
